Cellist Katherine Jenkinson joins her equally renowned colleagues Ruth Rogers and Martin Cousin in this beautiful recording of elegiac piano trios by Smetana, Rose and Rachmaninov. The Rose piano trio receives its premiere recording, and it is ideally partnered with the Smetana and Rachmaninov. All three trios have elements in common, being either the first or only forays by their respective composers into the medium, and each having been composed under special circumstances which largely or wholly informed their character.
